Main Character Energy: Discovering What Matters to You

Everyone has opinions about what you should do with your life—your family, your friends, TikTok, that random guy in your econ class. But what do you actually care about? In this workshop, you'll uncover the values that drive your decisions, from the big stuff (career, relationships, purpose) to the everyday stuff (how you spend your time and energy). Through fun activities and conversation, you'll identify what matters most to you and learn how to use those values as a guide when life gets messy or uncertain. Come curious, leave with a clearer sense of who you are and what direction feels right for you.

Building Your Personal Compass: Identifying Your Workview and Lifeview

Should work be about making a difference, making money, having freedom, or a little of everything? What kind of life do you actually want to build? In this workshop, you'll explore your beliefs about work, purpose, success, and happiness, then connect those ideas to the choices you're making right now. Together, we'll create a personal compass that can help you navigate college and beyond with more clarity and confidence. Because choosing a path is a lot easier when you know what direction you're heading.

Redefining Success: Your Story, Your Terms

What does success mean to you? In this workshop, we'll unpack the expectations you've absorbed from family, social media, and society—and help you figure out which ones actually serve your goals and which ones don't. We'll also talk honestly about the real barriers (financial, social, systemic) that impact different students' paths. You'll leave with clarity on what you genuinely want from your career and life, not just what you think you're supposed to want.

Building a Resume and Finding Your Way

Everyone knows that a resume is for finding a job, right? Sure, but it's also a tool we can use to identify our skills and talents. Additionally, a resume can help us evaluate what we’ve done in the past to understand what we liked and want to do more of and what we don’t ever want to do again if we can help it. This exercise will aid you in crafting a resume and use it to chart your path at USD and beyond.

Meh to Motivated: Understanding What Energizes You and What Drains You

Why do some classes, jobs, clubs, tasks, or projects leave you excited and motivated, while others make you want to take a nap? In this workshop, you'll identify the activities, environments, and people that give you energy—and the ones that drain it. You'll learn how to do more of what helps you thrive, make unavoidable energy drainers less painful, and use these insights to make smarter choices about majors, internships, careers, and how you spend your time. Leave with a better understanding of yourself and a plan for building a college experience—and future career—that plays to your strengths.
