TechFellows - Student Technology Fellowship

Overview

The Student Technology Fellowship program at the University of South Dakota appoints students—referred to as TechFellows—to directly assist faculty in the use and integration of instructional technology in their courses. The result of this investment provides all university students with higher levels of engagement and increases the professional and technology skills of TechFellows, better preparing them for a world increasingly dependent on  technology and collaboration

Available To

TechFellows Must Meet and Maintain the Following Qualifications:

  • Be a South Dakota resident
  • Be a full-time, undergraduate, degree-seeking student
  • Earn satisfactory grades—minimum GPA of 3.00—and make satisfactory progress towards graduation (see the USD TechFellows Handbook for details)
  • Have proficiency—or the ability to gain proficiency—in information technology experience and skills to help assist faculty
  • Average 10-12 work hours per week during the semester

Faculty/Departments Interested in TechFellow Support:

  • Must have enough work to constitute 10-12 hours per week for the TechFellow
  • Must complete an Faculty/Departmental Application that details what kind of assistance is needed, a work plan for the TechFellow, etc.
  • NOTE:  applications are primarily reviewed in the summer and TechFellows are generally assigned for the entire academic year
