Overview
Our dental hygiene clinics in Sioux Falls and Vermillion are open to the public. Students learn in the clinics under the close supervision of licensed dentists and licensed hygienists. Our services are offered at reduced rates; however, appointments generally take more time than traditional dental offices.
The USD Department of Dental Hygiene has two clinics that are open to the public. They are on campus in Vermillion and in Sioux Falls. Students work under the direction of licensed dental hygienists or dentists who are university faculty.

We adhere to the following clinical admission policies and would be happy to discuss any of these procedures with you. Please contact Dental Hygiene.
- We will not deny admission to the program or access to dental hygiene services to any individual based on the presence of any bloodborne infectious disease.
- For the protection of our patients, we adhere to infection control procedures known as standard precautions. All patients are treated equally. We sterilize all our instruments and use disposable products whenever possible.
- We follow all Occupational Safety and Health Administration and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines for health care facilities.
