Make a Meaningful Impact in Vermillion & Sioux Falls — Join USD in Supporting United Way
Founded in 1956 by local citizens committed to building a better community, the United Way of Vermillion has long partnered with our Coyote Community to identify and address local needs. Today, that partnership continues to grow as USD plays a key role in building a stronger, more connected Vermillion where every neighbor has access to the resources and support they need.

Benefits
United Way doesn’t just serve the broader community—it supports many of our own colleagues, students, and their families. From food security to youth programs, these services make a direct difference in the lives of those we work and learn alongside every day.
On behalf of our USD Campaign Team, we invite you to strengthen your commitment. Whether you're already supporting United Way or considering your first gift, an increase or new contribution of just $10 per month or $120 per year can provide 600 diapers, 50 books, and 30 meals to those who need them most, making a big difference in the lives of those in need.
Your donation goes further thanks to partnerships like Feeding South Dakota, which purchases food at discounted rates to maximize every dollar. And because 100% of your donation goes directly to local programs, you can be confident your support is making a real impact. United Way also funds the Connecting Kids Scholarship Program, ensuring all children in our community can participate in enriching activities—from swim lessons to soccer—regardless of financial barriers.
Sioux Falls needs our help too. The Sioux Empire United Way addresses critical needs across the community, where 83% of school-aged children live in households where all parents work outside the home. In addition, 40,861 adults in the Sioux Empire are aged 65 or older, with 28% living with a disability and 8% below the poverty level. Mental health remains a pressing concern, as 46% of adults with mental illness in South Dakota did not receive treatment. Your support helps tackle these challenges and creates lasting impact for children, vulnerable adults, and people in crisis.
