Remote.usd.edu Access (Not available after 8/31/2024)

Overview

Note: remote.usd.edu is end of life and no longer supportable.  Access will not be available after 8/31/2024

Students, faculty, and staff can still access many network resources even if they are not on the campus network.  The VMWare Horizon Client allows you to connect to a virtual Windows 10 computer that can be used to access resources and software only available on campus.

Benefits

Connect to a virtual computer using either the VMware Horizon Client or HTML (Web Browser) Access.
Note: Do not save files to this virtual computer as they are not preserved from one session to the next.  Files should be saved to OneDrive.

Once connected through remote.usd.edu from a US based IP Address, you will be able to use:

  • Banner Admin functions (HR, Finance, Student)
  • Department File Shares (X drive)
  • Cognos 
  • Perceptive Content (ImageNow)
  • Virtual Astronomy Lab 
  • SPSS
