MAC Address Instructions for Supported Smart Devices

Resolution

The list below contains the devices supported on the USD Network for the Smart Devices Network

First and foremost, you will need to find your MAC Address. Please refer to the following steps to find your MAC Address. Once finding your MAC Address, please register your device following Connecting a Smart Device to the Wireless

 

Amazon Fire TV/Stick

 New Setup

  1. After you choose your language, you will end up at the Connect to your network page
  2. Scroll all of the way to the right and click on MAC Address
  3. Example: F8:54:B8:E1:D9:A5

Bringing to Campus from prior use

  1. Go to Settings -> My Fire TV/Device -> About -> Network.
  2. The MAC Address you will want is labeled MAC Address(Wi-Fi) 

 

Roku Devices

New Setup

  1. Select Language
  2. Select Country
  3. Select Set up for home use
  4. Highlight Scan again to see all networks
  5. The right side of the screen will show Your wireless MAC address: XX:XX:XX:XX:XX:XX

Bringing to Campus from prior use

  1. Go to Settings -> Network -> About
  2. The MAC Address you will want is labeled Wireless MAC Address

 

Amazon Echo

  1. MAC address can be found on the bottom of the original box the device came in
  2. if the box is not available, check if the device is already listed in the Alexa app on your smartphone
    1. If it is, select the Device > About > Mac Address

 

Amazon Echo Show

  1. MAC address can be found on the bottom of the original box the device came in
  2. if the box is not available, check if the device is already listed in the Alexa app on your smartphone
    1. If it is, select the Device > About > Mac Address
  3. During initial setup, on the Connect to Network screen:
    1. Scroll down to the bottom under Device Information and the MAC Address will be listed

Note: The Mac Address should be 6 sets of 2 characters separated by colons. If any of the sets is only 1 character, put a zero before that character
