Enabling Zoom Waiting Room or Passcode

How do I enable passcode or waiting room 

Environment

• Zoom

Cause

Use security to prevent Zoombooming

Resolution

Enable Passcode Outside of D2L

1. Browse to Zoom
2. Click Sign In
3. Enter your USD email address and password
4. Click Settings
5. In the Security Section
   1. Verify Require a passcode when scheduling new Meetings is enabled
   2. If disabled click to enable

Enable Waiting Room Outside of D2L

Note: If you use Waiting Room, you will need to Admit attendees into the meeting.  See  Zoom Waiting Room video

1. Browse to Zoom
2. Click Sign In
3. Enter your USD email address and password
4. Click Settings
5. In the Security Section
   1. Verify Waiting Room is enabled
   2. If disabled click to enable
   3. Click Edit options to select who you want to admit to the Waiting Room
      • Everyone
      • Users not in your account
      • User who are not in your account and not part of the allowed domains

Enable Passcode or Waiting Room in D2L

1. Open your course
2. In the navigation bar Click Communication
3. Click Zoom Conferencing
4. Click Schedule a New Meeting
5. In the Security Section 
   • Select One
     • Waiting Room or
       Note: If you use Waiting Room, you will need to Admit attendees into the meeting.  See  Zoom Waiting Room video
     •  Passcode
       • Enter your meeting passcode
