Accessing Financial Aid Self Service Portal

How do I access financial aid?

Current Students

1. Log into Financial Aid Self Service
2. Select the Aid Year from the drop-down box in the upper right corner
3. Following are the tabs you can view
   • Home
   • Aid Offer
   • Financial Aid History
   • Resources
   • Notifications
   • Satisfactory Academic Progress
   • College Financing Plan

New or Readmitted Students, not a current student or current employee

1. Click Student Portal (this is a different portal than current students above)
2. Enter your Student ID in User ID, then click Forgot Password
   • Locating Student or Faculty ID
     Note: Your Student ID is in an email sent to the email address you specified on your FAFSA application.
     Note: If you receive error: Authorization Failure - Security Question is not set up and are a current/past student or employee of a South Dakota University system, you will need to log in through the Current Students procedures
3. You will be presented with a security question.  Enter your response to the question in the Answer box, then submit
4. After correctly answering the security question, the next screen will allow you to reset your Password. 
   1. Enter the same value in the boxes labeled New Password and Re-enter new Password. 
      Note: Your new password must be at least ten characters long and contain both letters and numbers 
   2. Then click on the Reset Password button.
5. Once logged in, select Click Here under Financial Aid
