Question

Should I use quizzes on Panopto?

How do I add a quiz to Panopto?

Answer

Adding quizzes to Panopto is a handy way to gauge student understanding and engagement with your Panopto videos. It is not possible to link a quiz created in Panopto to the gradebook in D2L; however, Panopto provides information about students’ scores which can easily be manually entered into D2L’s Gradebook. The steps to add a quiz are below:

  1. In the Editor, click on the Quizzes tab
  2. Select Add a Quiz
  3. A page will appear that will let you edit the following quiz properties:
    1. Title of the quiz
    2. The question type
      1. Multiple Choice questions may have many choices, but the student may only select one
      2. Multiple Select questions have many choices, and the student may select any number of answers
      3. True/False quizzes have only two choices, True and False, and the student may choose one
    3. The question wording (i.e. the assessment question)
    4. Possible answers to the questions, with the correct answer being selected
    5. An explanation of the correct answer for students to see after they complete the quiz

4. If you would like to add additional questions, click on Add a Question
5. Once you are finished, click Done
6. You will now be presented with list of options for your quiz

  1. Change the time at which the quiz appears
  2. Modify settings for this quiz
    1. Allow users to retake the quiz
    2. Display quiz grade
    3. Prevent continuing in video until quiz is complete
  3. Reorder or delete questions

7. Once everything looks correct, select Finish
8. After completing all of the edits you wanted to make to your video, make sure to select the red Publish button in the upper right-hand corner to make the changes
