How do I use the Coyote Card from my iPhone or Apple Watch?
Can I use Coyote Card Mobile if my phone's battery is dead?

- iPhone SE, iPhone 6s or later with iOS 12 or later
- Apple Watch Series 1 or later with Watch OS 5 or later
- Apple ID signed into iCloud
- Android Version 6.0 or later
- eAccounts Mobile App
- Samsung Galaxy phone
- Galaxy S Series – S10 or later
- Galaxy Note Series – Note10 or later
- Galaxy Z Series – All Z Flip and Fold devices
- Galaxy A Series – A53, A71 or later
- Galaxy Xcover-Pro2
- Samsung Galaxy 6 watch

Note: To display your Coyote Card Mobile ID, open Apple Wallet and select your Coyote Card from your saved cards
Note: Coyote Card Mobile does not replace your physical Coyote Card. A Coyote Card is still required, it must be carried at all times and upon request must be shown or surrendered to USD Officials. USD Testing Center requires your physical Coyote Card ID or other government issued ID.

All Devices
- When tapping your device
- Door readers
- Successful will flash green
- Failed will flash red
- No response, your device is not being recognized. Try tapping in a different location on the device

- Phone cases with RFID Protection will block NFC Chip from being read
Note: This includes MagSafe cases
- If your Coyote Card is in an adhesive wallet or wallet attached to your phone, the card may be read instead of the phone
Note: Antenna location may vary by device but is most often found at the top of the phone by the camera. You may have to adjust the orientation of the phone to the reader for the mobile credential to be recognized
Apple Wallet
- Turn on Apple device
- Tap device against reader
Note: If you have an iPhone XS, XS Max, and XR models, Express Mode with power reserve is available for up to five hours after the device’s battery needs to be charged. iPhone 8 and earlier do not offer this feature
Google Wallet
Note: You do not need to unlock your phone, The screen must be awake to use Coyote Card
- Tap power button to wake screen
- Tap phone against reader
Note: You will not be able to use Coyote Card Mobile if your phone battery is dead
Samsung Wallet - Coming June 28, 2023
Note: For eligible Samsung Galaxy phones, yes. Users can make up to 15 transactions within 24 hours after their phone powers off due to low battery
- Tap your phone against the reader to use your Mobile ID, there is no need to turn on your screen or unlock your phone
- To display your Mobile ID
- Open the Quick Access tab in the Samsung Wallet app
- Select your Mobile ID from your saved cards
