Mapping To Network Share in Windows

How to map a network drive

X drive is gone

How do I see what is in my user folder?

Environment

• Windows 11
• Windows 10
• Windows 7

Resolution

Note:  To map to the network share you need to be connected to the network via Ethernet or VPN if working remotely

Note:  USD Network Drives cannot be accessed on personal computers

1. Open Windows File Explorer by pressing +E on the keyboard
2. Right click This PC
   Note: In Windows 7 - Click My Computer
3. Click Map Network Drive
4. Assign a drive letter to map the drive
   Note: Z: drive is assigned as default
5. Type the network path into the Folder field
   1. \\usd.local\storage\network_share
      Ex: \\usd.local\storage\student_services
6. Check Reconnect at sign-in to show mapped drive each time you sign into this computer
7. Click Finish
