Returning Rental Books

How do I return my rental textbooks from home?

Resolution

Note: By the last day of your rental period, you must either return or buy your book rental. Please refer to Akademos Rental Terms of Service. 

1. All returns must be processed through the online bookstore
   Note: returns are not accepted at the on-campus bookstore
2. Rental books are not returnable for a refund
3. For rental books which are NOT returned, replacement costs will be charged by TextbookX
4. If you want to keep your rental book, please refer to Buying Your Rental Book
5. To process your rental book for return by mail: 
   1. Log in to your USD bookstore account 
   2. For computers or laptops, click Log in  
   3. For cell phones, click Log In  or  
   4. Login with your USD Account
   5. Verify with DUO (two-factor authentication)
   6. In the upper right hand corner click Your Name
   7. Select Purchases
   8. Find the order number with rental book(s)
   9. Select Rental Control Panel for one rental book from the selected order number
   10. Select Print Shipping Label to print your free shipping label
   11. Enclose ALL rental books from ONLY the selected order number in one package
   12. Tape the package shut
   13. Tape the shipping label onto the outside of the package
   14. Drop off the package at a USPS shipping location by the last day of your rental period
       Note:   Repeat steps h – n for each order number that has a rented book. DO NOT combine rental books from different order numbers in the same package.
