Computer is no longer connecting to a docking station

Environment

  • Lenovo laptop
  • Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 or USB-C dock

Cause

Cords connected incorrectly

Resolution

Please see the attached document

  1. Lenovo Thunderbolt 3 Dock has its own power adapter
    ​​​​​​​Note: Do not connect USB-C power adapter to the dock
  2. USB-C cord goes from back of dock to the left rear laptop USB-C port
