I need to connect to our department printer

Environment

  • Windows 7

Resolution

  1. Press or click 
  2. Click Devices and Printers
  3. Click Add Printer
  4. Click Add a local printer
  5. Click Create a new port
  6. Click on Drop Down area
  7. Choose Local Port
  8. Click Next
  9. Enter Print Queue path
    • Example:  \\usd-print01\ed123_hp123
  10. Click OK
  11. Choose Manufacture and Printer Model
  12. Click Next
  13. Click Next
  14. Click Next
  15. Make sure Do not share this printer is checked
  16. Click Next
  17. Leave or remove the check at Set as default printer
  18. Click Print a test page 
  19. Click Finish
