What is Scottish Rite Clinic Sioux Falls Evacuation and Severe Weather Plan?

Evacuation Plan

In the event that the Sioux Falls USD Scottish Rite Clinic located in the Masonic Center must be evacuated, the following procedures shall be followed.

1. Upon activation of the fire alarm, all persons within the USD Scottish Rite Clinic will immediately begin exiting the building through the nearest available exit route.
   1. Elevators should NOT be used during an evacuation event unless necessary for the evacuation of a disabled/handicapped person.
   2. Prior to leaving the room, any open flames, hot plates, coffee pots, or similar equipment should be turned off. Electrical equipment that cannot be left unattended for prolonged periods should also be turned off prior to exiting the room.
2. Designated staff within the clinic area will quickly survey the space to assure that evacuation is in progress or completed. The following staff have been designated:
   • Front Office Area and Front 5 therapy rooms – Stacie Carlson
   • Back Therapy Rooms Alaska/Hawaii/Snack Room – Jess Schneider
   • After 5PM, or Weekends – Clinical Supervisor
3. All persons within the USD Scottish Rite Clinic exit the building and move North on S. 1^st Street and convene on the North side of New Life Church on the corner of S. 1^st Ave. and 13th St. This will allow quick assessment for any missing persons and avoid interference with the emergency responders.

Severe Weather Plan

In the event of severe weather alerts such as tornado or severe thunderstorm, persons within the USD Scottish Rite Clinic should immediately proceed to Snack Room located in the southwest corner of the basement.

1. Designated staff from each area of the clinic will quickly survey the area to assure that evacuation is in progress or has been completed. The following staff have been designated:
   • Front area and front 5 therapy rooms – Stacie Carlson
   • Back therapy rooms Alaska/Hawaii – Jess Schneider               
   • After 5PM, or Weekends – Clinical Supervisor
