How do I share my screen with a technician from USD IT?

Environment

  • Microsoft Remote Help

Resolution

 Screen Share Only Using Web Browser

  1. Open Remote Help Sharer site
    1. Sign in with USD credentials if prompted
  2. Enter 8-character code provided by USD IT technician
  3. Click Share Screen
  4. Once the tech connects follow prompts to share screen
    Note: Full control is not available when sharing through a web browser

Screen Share Using Remote Help Client on Windows computer

  1. Open Remote Help app
    1. Download from Microsoft if not installed on your computer
    2. Sign in using USD credentials if prompted
      Note: USD-owned computers should already have Remote Help installed
  2. Enter 6-character code provided by USD IT technician
  3. Click Share Screen
  4. Once tech connects follow prompts to share screen
    1. Tech may request full control of your system

Screen Share Using Remote Help Client on MacOS

  1. Open Remote Help app
    1. Download from Microsoft if not installed on your computer
    2. Sign in using USD credentials if prompted
  2. Enter 8-character code provided by USD IT technician
  3. Click Share Screen
  4. Once tech connects follow prompts to allow permissions for Remote Help app within settings
    1. Tech may request full control of your system
