Capturing a Screenshot of Your Desktop

Issue/Question

How do I take a screenshot of a picture on my desktop?

Environment

• Windows 10
• Windows 7

Resolution

Using the Windows print screen feature:

1. Click the window you like to capture
2. Press Alt + Print Screen (Print Scrn, PrtScn)

Note: take a screenshot of the entire desktop by pressing Print Screen without Alt key

Using Snipping Tool:

1. Click
2. Type Snipping Tool
3. Press Enter
4. Click New
5. Click one corner of the image and drag

Follow these steps to save the captured image:

1. Click
2. Type Paint
   Note: You can alternately use other applications such as Word or Excel
3. Press Ctrl + V
