How to view your student worker inbox
Environment
- Outlook (New)
- Outlook on web
Resolution
All student employees will have an employee email address created to use for their student employment purposes
Note: Student employee mailbox will be created one day before employment start date and will be deleted 31 days after employment end date. These dates are based on the EPAF. Once deleted, the contents of the mailbox cannot be recovered.
Accessing a Student Worker (Shared) Mailbox in New Outlook
- Open New Outlook:
- Launch the New Outlook application on your computer
- Locate the Shared Mailbox:
- The shared mailbox should now appear under the Shared with me folder in the Folder pane
- If it doesn't show up immediately, try restarting Outlook
- If the mailbox does not appear automatically manually add it
- Right-click your account name in the Folder pane on the left side
- Select Add shared folder or mailbox from the context menu
- In the window that appears, type the name or email address of the shared mailbox you want to add
- Click Add
- Add to Favorites (Optional):
- Locate the shared mailbox in the Folder pane
- Right-click on the Inbox of the shared mailbox
- Select Add to Favorites from the context menu for easier access
Accessing a Student Worker (Shared) Mailbox in Outlook on the Web
- Open Outlook on the Web:
- Go to Outlook on the Web and sign in with your Microsoft 365 account
- Add the Shared Mailbox:
- Right-click your primary mailbox in the left navigation pane
- Select Add shared folder
- In the dialog box, type the name or email address of the shared mailbox
- Click Add
- Locate the Shared Mailbox:
- The shared mailbox will display in your Folder list in Outlook on the Web
- You can expand or collapse the shared mailbox folders as needed
- Open in a Separate Browser Window (Optional):
- On the Outlook Web App navigation bar, select your name
- Type the email address of the shared mailbox you want to open
- The shared mailbox will open in a separate browser window, allowing you to manage it independently
