What do I do for winter break? Does Housing check my room?
Answer
During the weeks leading up to winter break, your RA will hang a winter break checklist on your door. Before leaving for winter break, this checklist should be completed. The requirements of this checklist are as follows:
- Throw out all perishable items
- Unplug all electronics
University Housing does perform room checks over the winter break. The purpose of room checks at this time is to ensure that students have completed their winter break checklist and the room is safe to be left empty for this extended period of time.
Community Living Policy violations will be documented during this time. Depending on the severity of the violations, some items may be confiscated and disciplinary action will follow. Please see the Community Living Policies for further information.
