Does University Housing perform room checks over winter break?

Answer

1. During the weeks leading up to winter break, your RA will hang a winter break checklist on your door. Before leaving for winter break, this checklist should be completed. The requirements of this checklist include:
   • Throw out all perishable items
   • Unplug all electronics
2. University Housing does perform room checks over the winter break. The purpose of room checks at this time is to ensure that students have completed their winter break checklist and the room is safe to be left empty for this extended period of time.
   • Note: Any Community Living Policy violations will be documented during this time. Depending on the severity of the violations, some items may be confiscated and disciplinary action will follow. Please see the Community Living Policies for further information.
