How do I get access to reduced tuition as a full time benefit eligible employee?
Environment
Cause
A benefit eligible employee wants to receive tuition reduction on their courses.
Resolution
- State employees that meet certain criteria are eligible for reduced tuition:
- Continuous employment with the state of South Dakota for a minimum of one year
- They are in a position classified as benefits-eligible
- Established residency in South Dakota
- A cumulative collegiate GPA of 2.0 or higher
- A good employment standing
- Apply for reduced tuition Reduced Tuition
- You will be directed to a DocuSign PowerForm to complete the application
- Type your name and e-mail in the correct fields
- Type your supervisor’s name and e-mail in the correct fields
- Click BEGIN SIGNING
- In DocuSign, type or complete the following fields:
- Last Name
- First Name
- Middle Initial
- State Employee ID Number
- Phone Number
- Agency or Institution Where Employed – University of South Dakota
- Name of Supervisor
- University - USD
- Course Name
- Course Number
- Number of Credits
- Semester and Year for the course you are applying for a tuition reduction in
- Sign at the bottom
- Click FINISH
- Wait for the form to receive approval from
- Supervisor
- Human Resources
- Business Office
- Employees will be notified of an approved application through their SDePay account. To review the recued amount, they will need to log-in to SDePay. Questions regarding billing can be directed to the USD Business Office
- Employees that do not qualify for tuition reduction will be contacted directly from a Business Office representative
