Cause
I need to find a pay structure or range for a position.
Resolution
Pay structures and ranges for CSA and NFE positions can be found online at the SDBOR compensation and classification website. Below are links to the pay structures for both CSA and NFE:
- CSA Pay Structures
- General Pay Structure (G) – used for most Civil Service classifications
- Law Enforcement Salary Structure – used for most Law Enforcement classifications
- Information Technology Pay Structure – used for most IT classifications
- The remaining pay structures on the BHR site are not currently used by SD Board of Regents – contact USD Human Resources for more information (605-658-3660)

An accompanying component of NFE pay structures are Job Families and Job Levels. Job families reflect roles that have similar functions and services. Job levels are reflective of the education and experience requirements, responsibility, scope, complexity, and requirements of a position. Job levels and families do not have a one-to-one relationship to salary structure/grade assignments due to external market factors.
