- What is the severe weather plan for the Center for Continuing Education?
Answer
Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Location
- First Floor - West Entrance - Outside Office 121
Evacuation Plan
If the Center for Continuing Education (CCE) must be evacuated, follow these procedures:
- Upon activation of the fire alarm, all persons within the CCE will immediately begin exiting the building through the nearest available exit route.
- Prior to leaving a room, any hot plates, coffee pots, or similar equipment should be turned off.
- Electrical equipment that cannot be left unattended for prolonged periods should also be turned off prior to exiting a room.
- Designated staff from each floor will quickly survey the floor to assure that evacuation is in progress or completed. The following staff have been designated:
- Lisa Griffin or Randy Heinert: ITS, Electrical, Mechanical, Network & Restrooms
- Eric Mosterd or Bridget Ihnen: All of CTL areas (south side of building)
- Holly Estwick or Sarah Flanagan: Copy Center, Room 117C & Postal Services
- All persons from the CCE will convene on the lawn between Olson and Mickelson Residential Halls. This will allow quick assessment for any missing persons and avoid interference with the emergency responders.
- In the event of weather conditions where shelter is desired, please move away from the CCE and go inside the Commons for comfort and safety.
Severe Weather Plan
In the event of severe weather alerts such as tornado or severe thunderstorm, or upon activation of the civil defense siren, persons within the CCE should immediately proceed to the restrooms 110, 112 or the Recycle room 129.
- Designated staff from each floor will quickly survey the floor to assure that evacuation is in progress or has been completed. The following staff have been designated:
- ITS Academic Technology Manager and UCopy Manager
