Question
How do I continue taking dual credit after receiving a WD or F in my dual credit class?
Answer
- Go to the Eligibility Exception Form
- Under the Student Section, type your full name & email address
- Under the Parent/Guardian Section, type your parent or guardian’s name & email address
Note: make sure the emails are typed correctly, otherwise your parent or guardian will not receive the email
- Under the School Official Section, type your high school counselor’s name and counselor's email address
- Click Begin Signing
- Explain the circumstances leading up to the withdrawal (WD) or F and add appropriate supporting documentation under the Showing Good Cause heading
- Sign the form at the bottom of the page when prompted by the yellow sign icon
- Click submit at the bottom of the page
- The form will be sent to your parent or guardian’s email address where they will need to sign the form
- The form will then be sent to your high school official’s email address where they will need to sign the form
Note: If your parent or counselor can’t find the form in their email, they should check their junk or spam folder. If they cannot find the email, contact dualcredit@usd.edu with the emails used (incorrect spelling causes the form to be voided).
- After all parties have signed the form, USD will process your Eligibility Exception request
- If this petition is approved, you will be allowed to continue taking dual credit at the discounted rate ($48.33 per credit hour)
- If the petition is denied, you will not be allowed to continue taking dual credit at the discounted rate
- If you still wish to take dual credit, you can pay full dual credit tuition ($145.00 per credit hour) to retake the withdrawal (WD) or failed (F) course
- Once the course is successfully retaken at the full dual credit tuition rate, you will be allowed to continue taking dual credit at the discounted rate
- USD’s Dual Credit Advisor will contact you and your high school counselor with the petition outcome
