Using an HTC VIVE Pro 2 Virtual Reality Headset

Issue/Question

How do I use the Library's new DSRS VR Lab?

Environment

• Windows
• SteamVR
• VIVE console
• HTC VIVE Pro 2
• Steam

Resolution

1. Sign into the computer with your USD Credentials
2. Wait a moment for everything to load, then double-click on Steam
   Note: Please contact the Service Desk if you cannot login to the DSRS VR Lab Steam account
3. Press the power button on the front of the VIVE Link Box to turn it on
   Note: This is the small box connecting the headset to the computer
4. Press the power button on the left side of the headset to turn it on
5. Turn on each controller by pressing and holding the button closest to your thumb on the top of the controller until it beeps
   Note: Unplug the controllers from the chargers if they are still plugged in before turning them on
6. Select SteamVR from the Favorites Menu
7. Click Launch
8. Follow any additional instructions and prompts for Room Setup
9. Select the game you wish to play from the Favorites Menu and follow the instructions on the screen and in the headset
10. Adjust the headset so it is firmly placed on your head with the goggles centered and tight to your face
    1. Turn the knob located on the back of the headset to increase or decrease tension
    2. Turn the small knob under the right lens to adjust PD (Pupilary Distance)
    3. Follow the instructions as they appear on the screen or in the headset
11. When finished, turn off the controllers by holding the same button used to turn them on until they beep
