Long Distance FAC Codes for Departments

Issue/Question

• I need to get a FAC code 
• I am requesting long-distance access codes for departments
• I want to use the conference phone and it requires an access code

Environment

• VoIP
• Long Distance calling
• Forced Authorization Code (FAC)

Cause

If required, a VoIP caller must enter a Forced Authorization Code to complete a long distance call or international call. This allows the toll charges to be billed back to the department that corresponds with the code

Resolution

1. Log into myUSD portal
2. Below Quick Links Click LDC (VoIP Long Distance Code)
3. The calling code will be displayed behind your department name

FAC Dialing Procedure:

1. Dial the phone number to be dialed as normal. 9-1-XXX-XXX-XXXX
2. You will hear two beeps and the screen will prompt for an authorization code
3. Enter the FAC number and press pound (#)
4. The call will be completed
