Resolution

  1. Each D2L course needs to have Panopto External Learning Tool added/enabled. See Adding Panopto to D2L.
  2. Each course that you would like to record in D2L should have a unique Zoom meeting ID
           Example:
    1. Set ECON 201 class to a Zoom meeting id #  (11111111 for ECON 201)
    2. Set BADM 450 class to a Zoom meeting id #  (2222222 for BADM 450)
  3. Sign in to Panopto
Note: You must select USD Login from the dropdown menu
  4. Click  under your name in the top right
  5. Select User Settings
  6. Set this up for your classes and/or meetings
Example: Meeting ID       Folder Name                           Save
                             1111111           2021 Fall - ECON 201               x
                             2222222          2021 Fall - BADM 450              x

This way only students in ECON 201 and BADM 450 can see those recordings, based on D2L class permissions.
  7. You can elevate access by granting creator or publisher role in the class in Panopto
Note: Elevated users can edit captions

Note: Once this is set up, zoom recordings will automatically copy to Panopto within the D2L class folder.  Tech fellows could potentially edit captions, and teachers would just do initial setup.
