Resolution
Verify USB cable is plugged in
- Check the connection on both the printer and computer ends of the cable
- Confirm printer has paper and paper tray is properly loaded
- Reboot Computer
Restart Printer
- Press power button on printer to shut down
- Unplug power cord from printer
- Press power button a couple of times
- Plug power cord in again
- Turn printer on
Restart Computer
Clear Local Print Queue
- Click
- Click
- Click Devices
- Click Printers & scanners
- Click entry for printer that is not printing
- Click Open queue
- Click Printer
- Click Cancel All Documents
Install drivers
- Go to support.hp.com
- Click Software and Drivers
- Click Printer
- Enter Printer Model (ex HP 2420)
- Click Download to right of recommended or desired driver
- Double click downloaded file
- Follow prompts
Reload USB device
- Right click
- Click Device Manager
- Click USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller
- Press Delete
- Click Uninstall
- Restart computer
Replace Toner Cartridge
- Remove toner cartridge
- Check for obstructions
- Insert new toner cartridge
