Sharing Computer Audio to Zoom Participants

Issue/Question

Audio quality is not good playing music or YouTube over Zoom

How can I improve audio quality for videos/music over Zoom

Environment

Cause

Zoom by default is trying to make the audio consistent. That is not optimal during a video or with music. These setting should help.

Resolution

1. Use Zoom App on Desktop or Laptop
2. Connect using Ethernet cable and not WiFi
3. Use a good Microphone and Speakers (not webcam or laptop)
4. Close other programs that are not used during class/meeting
5. Open Zoom App
6. Click Home icon on top of window
7. Click near top right of Zoom App window
8. Click Audio (third from top along left side)
   1. Make sure the speaker is set to your best option
   2. Test speakers
   3. Make sure the microphone is to your best option
   4. Test Microphone
   5. Under microphone Uncheck Automatically adjust microphone volume
   6. Re-adjust levels manually on speaker and microphone above
9. Click Advanced at bottom of Audio
   1. show in-meeting to enable Original Sound from microphone
   2. Uncheck Disable echo cancellation
   3. high fidelity music mode
   4. use stereo audio
10. Click X in upper right of windows to close settings
11. Start Zoom meeting
    Note: To Share the Audio that is coming from you computer you MUST share computer sound at bottom of share screen
