General Information
- Financial aid and scholarships may be applied to all programs offered through the Gallagher Center

Application Deadlines
The Gallagher Center’s program deadlines are below, and scholarship deadlines may or may not align with the Gallagher center’s deadlines. Check the Scholarship Manager application for more details.
Application Deadlines vary according to travel plans:
- All Spring semester programs for the current academic year, including Faculty-Led Programs (FLP): October 15
- Summer, year-long, FLP, and fall programs for the upcoming academic year: March 15
- Faculty-Led winter break programs: September 23
Specific USD Study Away Scholarships
All Students
The Jim Harlson Wanderlust Scholarship
- Awards will be used to support students taking part in Gallagher International Center travel programs
- All should apply, preference will be given to help economically disadvantaged students cover costs associated with study abroad experiences
- Funds may be awarded for full-year, semester, or summer programs, and are not intended to support programs led by faculty
- Students should apply through the Scholarship Manager which is accessed with their USD credentials
Beacom School of Business School Students
Benno Wymar Business School International Study Scholarship
- This scholarship is used to provide traveling and operational expenses for the international academic study program
- Travel stipends may be awarded to students participating in the international academic business study program
- Students should contact their academic advisors, indicating their interest and need
College of Arts & Sciences Students
Arts & Sciences International Opportunity Fund Scholarship
- Available to undergraduate A&S majors
- Student must have completed 30 credit hours by the time they apply
- Due Dates:
- All Summer 24 programs, all Fall 24 programs, and year-long 24/25 programs: due March 15, 2024
- Faculty-Led programs (FLPs) over winter break 24/25: due September 15, 2024.
- All Spring 25 semester programs, including spring-break Faculty-Led Programs (FLP): due October 15, 2024.
- All Summer 25 programs, all fall 25 programs, and year-long 25/26 programs: due March 15 2025.
- Students should apply through the Scholarship Manager
Cedric & Evelyn Cummins Memorial Scholarship
- Only available to undergraduate History majors
- For study abroad or international travel
- History majors are sent a call for applications each semester
- Students should apply through the Scholarship Manager
- History majors can also apply through Scholarship Manager for other funding opportunities
Gasque Study in Britain Scholarship

Edward & Helen Greene Modern Language Travel Scholarship
- Available to students studying foreign languages at USD
