Issue/Question

When users print, the printer is making a loud noise

The printer is making a loud noise when pulling paper from the tray

The office printer is not printing and it is making strange sounds when it tries to print

Cause

Possible hardware issue causing the printer to make a loud noise

Resolution

  1. Remove toner
  2. Check paper path where toner was and make sure it is clear
  3. Place toner back in printer
  4. Run a test job to see is still noisy
  5. Remove any of the paper trays
  6. Make sure paper trays are not filled with too much paper
  7. Put paper trays back in place
  8. Run a test job to see is still noisy
  9. If still noisy, please contact the Service Desk with the following information: 
    1. Location of printer
    2. Make and Model of printer
