Adopting the Same Textbook for Multiple Courses

Issue/Question

• How can I adopt materials for multiple sections at once?
• Do I have to adopt the same book for each section?

Environment

• USD Instructors
• usd.textbookx.com (being replaced)
• USD Online Bookstore
• usd.edu/textbooks
• Akademos
• Faculty, instructors, department chairs
• Verba Collect
• https://akademos-universitysouthdakota.verbacollect.com/

Cause

All sections need the same course materials

Resolution

1. Go to Verba Collect
2. Click the course you want to add materials to
3. Copy a previous semester adoption or add a textbook manually by entering the ISBN or book title
4. Once course material is added to one section, if the same material is used for more than one section of this course, select Merge or Split Sections
5. Select all applicable sections
6. Select Merge and Close
