Adobe Error Message When Saving Edited .pdf Document

Issue/Question

When opening a PDF file, when I delete a page, I try to save the document again and I get an error message

Error: Adobe Acrobat: Resource does not exist or you do not have sufficient permissions to access this resource

Environment

  • Windows 10
  • Adobe Acrobat XI

Cause

Windows Explorer, Preview Pane, uses a process that can lock a .pdf file

Resolution

Disable Windows Preview Pane

  1. Click on open Desktop area.
  2. Press CTRL + N to open Windows Explorer
  3. Press ALT + P to disable Preview Pane
