Issue/Question

I am unable to install an application on my Apple computer

Error: “Inkscape” can’t be opened because it is from an unidentified developer.
Your security preferences allow installation of only apps from the App Store and identified developers.

Environment

  • Mac OS

Cause

Security settings are preventing the application from opening for the first time.  

Resolution

Note: If you do not know or trust the source of the Software you wish to install, do not proceed

  1. Find Application in Application folder
  2. Press Control + Right Click 
  3. select Open
  4. Select Open Anyway
