Projector Starts and Then Stops Working

Issue/Question

The projector turns on and will work for a few minutes and then will stop working

The projector stopped working after approximately 60 seconds of use

Projector sometimes will not display a top quarter of the screen

Projector image flashes on and off

Cause

Multiple causes

Resolution

1. For projectors that are hung from the ceiling or wall contact the Service Desk
   Note: Please do not attempt to troubleshoot
2. For portable projectors
   1. Check the status LEDs on the projector
   2. Refer to the manual by searching online for the projector model
   3. If status LED indicates a heat warning. 
      1. Unplug power from the projector and let the projector sit for at least 20 minutes
      2. Make sure that there is nothing obstructing the airflow around the projector
   4. If possible move the projector to a cooler location in the room
   5. Check the air vents on the projector
   6. Check the air filter is not plugged with lint or other debris
   7. Check Auto Power Off settings in the projector menu
      1. Change the setting to Off if turned on.
