My windows is no longer activated

The activation period has expired for my computer

I keep getting a notice that says my copy of Windows is not genuine

Error: The activation period has expired

Error: If this computer belongs to your organization or business, you might need to connect to the network to activate Windows. You may be a victim of software counterfeiting

Error: This copy of Windows is not genuine

Cause

Resolution

1. Press +E
2. Right click My Computer (Windows 7) or This PC (Windows 10)
3. Click Properties
4. Click You must activate today. Activate Windows today.
5. Click Retype your product key
6. Enter correct product key
7. Click Next
8. Click Close
