Files Not Printing in Color

Change Device Type to Color from Auto Detect.

Issue/Question

Files created in color are not being printed in color, even though the printer properties say it is in color.

Environment

  • Windows 
  • HP Color Laserjet 

Cause

Device type is set to Auto Detect

Resolution

  1. Right click Printer
  2. Select Printer Properties
  3. Click Device Settings
  4. Click Auto Detect next to Device Type
  5. Select Color
  6. Click OK
