Windows Defender Updates Missing

Issue/Question

• Do I need to do updates on my work computer
• Windows Defender message
• Action Center message
  • Windows Update Error message: You're not up to date, Your device is missing important security and quality fixes

Environment

Cause

Updates were not applied; ITS manages Windows Defender Updates (also known as System Center EndPoint Protection, or SCEP)

Resolution

1. No action required; ITS manages the updates that are applied to Windows Defender. If you open Settings in Windows Defender you will see a message saying Some Settings are Managed by Your Organization
2. To view update settings in Windows Defender, click  on the task bar
