How do I send an email so it appears on a timeline in Slate using the Gateway Connections link?

Using a BCC link to log emails to a timeline

Environment

Resolution

Obtaining the Gateway Connections Link

  1. Log in to Slate
  2. Select Inbox
  3. Click Gateway
  4. Click Connections Instructions
  5. Select and copy the Gateway Connections link

Adding the Link to Contacts for Reuse

  1. Open your email application
  2. Click the option to create a new contact
  3. Paste the Gateway Connections link into the email address field
  4. Enter a recognizable name for the contact ex: "Slate BCC"
  5. Select Save

Sending an Email to Log to Timeline

  1. Open a new email message
  2. Enter the recipient in the To field
  3. Enter the Gateway Connections contact in the BCC field
  4. Compose the email message
  5. Click Send

Managing and Confirming Messages in Gateway

  1. Return to Slate
  2. Click Inbox
  3. Click Gateway 
  4. Locate the email in the Gateway list
  5. Click the email entry
  6. Click the correct record shown
  7. Click Save to attach the email to the correct record

Note: The email may appear on more than one timeline until it is confirmed in the Gateway. Completing the confirmation ensures it is attached to the correct record.
