Summary

Instructions for manually recording phone calls, meetings, and direct outreach activities on student records in Slate's Timeline. Counselors can log interactions by clicking New Interaction on a student record and selecting the interaction type, date, and adding a brief description.

Issue/Question

How do I log a phone call, meeting, or other interaction with a student in Slate?

Resolution

  1. Navigate to the student's person or application record
  2. Go to the Timeline tab
  3. Click New Interaction
  4. Select the user who made the contact (defaults to current user)
  5. Select an interaction code from the dropdown (e.g. Phone Call, Meeting, Email)
  6. Select the date and time the interaction occurred
  7. Type the subject in the Subject field
  8. Paste or write a brief description of the interaction
  9. Click Save
