How do I use TurningPoint for my class?

  • Desire2Learn (D2L)

Resolution

Using TurningPoint in Your Class

  1. Attend a training class at the Center for Teaching & Learning (CTL) to learn how the software works and how to integrate it into class design
  2. Contact the Registrar's office to schedule one of the TurningPoint classrooms
  3. Add TurningPoint D2L integration to your D2L course:
    1. Open your Course within D2L
    2. Click Content
    3. Click Add Existing Activities
    4. Click External Learning Tools
    5. Select USD - TurningPoint
      Note: See this document for detailed instructions on setting up D2L integration
  4. Click the link you just added to D2L 
  5. Follow the Detailed instructions to create an account and link it to your D2L course
  6. Create a quiz PowerPoint from the TurningPoint client.  If you need assistance on this contact the CTL
  7. Test the slides in a smart classroom that has TurningPoint installed (see step 2) before your first class to work out any kinks and get used to using the system
  8. Use TurningPoint integration to upload grades directly from TurningPoint to D2L. If you have any questions, please contact the CTL

TurningPoint Receivers

  1. USD ITS will be responsible for maintaining and troubleshooting any issues related to the receiver connected to the USD owned classroom instructor computers.  Please contact the ITS Service Desk for assistance.
