Update the Offline Global Address List (GAL) in Outlook

How to download the most recent Offline Global Address List in Outlook

Environment

  • Outlook
  • Office 365

Cause

Data was changed in address list, but it is not displayed locally in Outlook

Resolution

  1. Open Outlook
  2. Go to the Send/Receive Tab
  3. Click the Send/Receive Groups drop down
  4. Click Download Address Book
  5. Select Download changes since last Send/Receive
  6. Make sure that \Offline Global Address List is chosen
  7. Click OK
